“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 1:2)

Today, we are going to examine the word “health” and how it relates to the practical and biblical principles for “Spiritual” growth. In essence,“health” is the state of wholeness in spirit (soul-heart), mind (soul), and body. Health is derived from Hale; exhibiting or restored to vigorous good health, healthy, and sound. Health is a healthy state of well-being free from disease; Wellness; Entire health in mind, body, and soul; A state of happiness; Condition; Vitality; and Fitness. In the business world, it is called “Health and Wellness” a key organizational goal and program promoting healthy lives to reflect at the workplace, home, and in the community. It is leadership ability to implement a strategic plan for employee’s, family members, and communities into lifestyles of healthy living and wellness. The “health” is a direct connection between “Health and Wellness” in self-management for healthier living, psychological interventions, medical awareness interventions,  growth, and human sustainability. However, “Health and Wellness” does not appropriately deal with the aspect of the “soul” health without crossing boundaries of one’s spirituality on the job.

In the context of the scripture, The Epistle, an elder in stature or age, wrote a sincere letter of love, left on record for leadership and all people, the importance of prospering not only in physical health, wealth, but the soul at the forefront. For instance, personally, I call this “The-Right-Antidote.” It is the ability to love yourself, seek to find “Truth” in spiritual growth, feed the mind with the right information, watch your speech, and watch the health of the body, honoring the Word of God. It is an in-depth ability to know the “soul (spirit)” is the most important of the total person. Thought to ponder: Your “health” have warning signs to stop, evaluate, seek help, and take action. “Health” can never be reconciled to only fitness, free from disease, wealth, or the mentality of a person. For “if” the soul is dead to life, what fruit will it produce? It will only produce fruits of death, destruction, and a continuous dissatisfaction. Keep in mind, the soul must first “prosper” in obedience for the wholeness of well-being to take “true” transformation. So, then, “health” is grace given, grace is given by God to extend life, the total well-being. An eye-opener of “true” love for oneself and others. To “prosper” (to succeed) is to courageously live.

What lessons can be learned about “health” “Health and Wellness” and “prosper(s)?” There are five (5) important lessons. Discovering the “Truth” in “Know” and “How

Lessons Learned About Health, Health and Wellness, and Prosper(s):

  1. Know spiritually feeding the “soul” is the first step of “health” to prosper the mind in the wellness of a person. How will I manage my lifestyle feeding my “spirit” with the right information to produce growth and life? How will I guard my “heart” against pollution of people and media? How will I guard my “spirit” to align with the Spirit of God? (Leadership Self-Management Discipline & Humility)
  2. Know the“mind” is the second step to prosper in “health” revealing a person’s thoughts or predicted patterns. A person’s ability to guard the mind with due diligence to prosper in the spirit. How will I guard my mind against pollution of ungodly doctrines? How will I feed the mind with positive information to grow beyond psychology norms of man? How will I guard the mind? Who will I listen to? What music will I listen to? How will I deal with anxiety? The mind is the first attack of an enemy to plant seeds of death and destruction targeting killing the “soul.” (Leadership Self-Management Discipline, Self-Image Management)
  3. Know the “body” is the third step to prosper in “health” leading to the wellness of the total person. We must train our bodies in fitness, lifestyle, and endurance honorable in the sight of God. When the body is managed properly it is able to fight off diseases, all forms of sickness, resulting in longevity given only from God. How will I plan to change my fitness, lifestyle, and endurance ability? How will I manage stress? How will I plan to occasionally pamper myself? How will I use available resources to know the warning signs of deteriorating health? The body is the second level of attack from the enemy to negatively impact the mind. (Mind and Body Wellness, Strategic Planning)
  4. Know society has infiltrated that “wealth” is the true sign of a person prospering, but it is the last step in total “health” and well-being. Wealth will never replace joy. Wealth will never replace true happiness. Wealth does determine a person's ability to walk in truth, honesty, and kindness over time.Wealth does help a person to live comfortably. How will I manage my wealth in my life? How will I manage my wealth with the available resources to help other? How will I make sure I am submitting to God’s Will? How will I strategic plan for failure in wealth? How will my wealth produce life and growth? (Humility and Financial Planning)
  5. Truth is always revealed in a person's ability to change and transform in the wholeness of “health” to walk in truth, honesty, obedience, faithfulness, and fruitfulness to make an impact in the lives of others by example. Revealing the “true” character of a person’s "heart" to live with the grace given from God in obedience. How will I take a stand in “Truth” to walk in the wholeness of health? How will I make sure I am not negatively affecting the “health” of someone else? How and when will I take a self-examination to change and transform for the greater? (Courage and Transformational Leadership)

In closing, know “health” is a virtue of sincere love for one’s self and others; Know a person’s “soul (spirit)” is the first step in total health and wellness leading to prosperity; Know the “mind” is the second step of “health” leading to the well-being of a person; Know the “body” must be physically fit to endure with longevity with the grace given from God; Know “wealth” is temporal, plan wisely; Know the right “health“ is a culture and lifestyle producing growth, love, and human sustainability; Know your life is either a testimony of God’s grace or a testimony of a lifestyle of dishonor. Know “true health” is a masterpiece of work in an artist's hand to paint in vivid colors for a greater tomorrow. Know you will need the courage to stand up, build up, change, and transform for the greater. Remember, an environment of life is a progressive climate and culture of growth. Change your environment if needed. Change your view if needed. Change your courage if needed. Change your health if needed. Speak life, grow, and lead! “You Have Value!” “You Have Worth!” “Live With Purpose!
